Summary: "During the winter of 1952, British authorities enteredthe home of mathematician, cryptanalyst and war hero AlanTuring to investigate a reported burglary. They insteadended up arresting Turing himself on charges of ^"grossindecency,^" an accusation that would lead to hisdevastating conviction for the criminal offense ofhomosexuality - little did officials know, they wereactually incriminating the pioneer of modern-daycomputing. Famously leading a motley group of scholars,linguists, chess champions and intelligence officers, hewas credited with cracking the so-called unbreakable codesof Germany's World War II Enigma machine.
